Help with sending valuables and money abroad

How to send valuables, money and jewellery securely

If you're sending valuables, money or jewellery to another country, we recommend that you use one of our international priority services: International Tracked, International Signed or International Tracked and Signed.

These services are available with extra compensation cover. The maximum compensation for loss or damage to international mail containing money is £100.

Packaging

We recommend you package money securely and take care to make sure it's not visible through the envelope. Don't indicate on the outside of the packaging that money is inside.

Coins should not be sent in envelopes - our automated sorting machines may damage envelopes containing coins, which can lead to delays and even loss.
